Threatened Swedish journalist Dick Emanuelsson, for spreading voter fraud

December 17, 2009, 07:41 Santiago de Chile, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) A Swedish journalist who revealed details of the election fraud in Honduras is in danger of death, denounced today the Commission of Inquiry into Violations of Journalists (CIAP) of the American Federation of Journalists (FELAP).

The Chilean Ernesto Carmona, executive secretary of the CIAP, told Prensa Latina that the correspondent Dick Emanuelsson risks his expulsion from the country for bringing to light some scenes which are a look at the electoral fraud.

Also, he revealed  the financing source of the NGO "Let Democracy" (HD) by the official U.S. agency USAID.

Carmona said Emanuelsson interviewed by telephone Bu, head of HD, about contradictions in the election results and financing of NGOs, which receives funding and support "methodology" of USAID and the Institute of United States Democratic Party.

Then Bu claimed that the interview was recorded without his consent and threatened to sue the Swedish journalist.

According to Carmona, a secretary of Bu threatened to "suffer the same fate of Father Tamayo, a Salvadoran priest sentenced to deportation.

According to the complaint of CIAP, Emanuelsson also fears an attack and quotes the correspondent that "the thing is ugly here and it seems every day more like Colombia, where he fled from because of similar threats.
