Perez Esquivel urgent request by Honduras - serious situation

They , the General Coordinator for Latin America SERPAJ-Dr. Gustavo Cabrera and Mennonite Pastor Cesar Carcamo, were arrested in Honduras by those in the police command

I was able to communicate by telephone with Gustavo Cabrera, who reported his arrest and that of Pastor Carcamo, strong repression by the army and police against the people and international observers

The call for elections by the Honduran dictatorship seeks to justify the unjustifiable and resort to terror and repression to silence any opposition to the de facto regime.

We call upon the international community, social organizations, human rights, governments and churches, to demand the release of detained colleagues and the immediate cessation of repression against the people of Honduras.

The illegitimate elections are stained with the blood of the Honduran people and are an affront to democracy and freedom in Latin America.

Address letters to OAS, the UN. Embassies of Honduras and the Honduran facto government demanding the immediate release of detainees.

In the media, asking them to disseminate the situation facing the people of Honduras:

The cessation of repression.
Invalidate the elections illegitimate.
Restoring the President Manuel Zelaya in office.
Must be resisted at Hope!
