SAN JOSE (Reuters) - President-elect by electoral fraud in Honduras, Porfirio "Pepe Coup" Lobo, was on Tuesday in favor of an amnesty for those involved in the coup against President Manuel Zelaya in June, while trying to achieve recognition of the international community.
Lobo met in San Jose with the president of Costa Rica, Oscar Arias and Panama, Ricardo Martinelli, part of a group of rulers who recognized the elections, although they were organized by a de facto government.
"Politically there will be any kind of crime that can be imputed. There must be an amnesty for all sectors," Lobo said in a joint press conference with other leaders.
Many countries have said the November 29 elections were "clean" (full of blood and fraud) and there is no reason to disregard Lobo.
The de facto government headed by Roberto Micheletti called Zelayaon Tuesday to form a unity government, one of the points of agreement but he rejected the offer because he believes that this agreement no longer exists.
"President Zelaya is not going to make a proposal, that agreement is a dead letter. He will not endorse this military coup," Rasel Tomé told Reuters , a close associate of President Zelaya accompanying him in the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa , where he is a refugee since September.
