Dear Members of Human Rights Watch,
We ask you to intervene and stop this repression in name of the Honduran peoples victims of abuse of the de facto government and pressure the OAS to force them to stop repression against the population, in view an OAS delegation of Senior Membersis there to promote dialogue to all parts in the political turmoil in Honduras. It cannot be that a dialogue is established, while the conditions for it are unacceptable violating human rights through the force of arms, repressing innocent people. Even though the de facto government revoked the decree, it has not been officially published, hence Honduras is still under state of siege.
The demonstration that Honduras were making peacefully and unarmed in front of the United States Embassy has been repressied with tear gas granades by the military.
They have thrown right now many many bombs and gases, the protesters are being persecuted. Hundreds and hundreds of them, men and women, unarmed gathered and arrived today, like usual this week in front of the US Embassy.
They arrived trusting that peace would be brought by the visit of the delegation of Senior Members of the OAS. The protesters now run in the direction of the center of Tegucigalpa, where they are being forced to pass in front of a huge police and military group in front of the embassy of Brazil.
The protesters describe that this is one of the most repressive attacks they have received. When the police official spokesman was asked about the violations of human rights, he commented that the organisms of Human Rights like the IACHR have to justify their work and are biased, which is why they don't believe in the reports made by them.
They took advantage of the minute of absense of the press, which right now covers the installment of a dialogue in a luxury hotel. A dialogue taking action in a fine table while military forces chase Hondurans.
There are no conditions nor environment adecuate for valid dialogue as long as the de facto government maintains the repressive use of the force of arms, it must cease, plus the opening of opposition media and the liberation of political prisoners.
