The warning is clear: in Honduras Roberto Micheletti are former paramilitaries in Latin America, hired by large landowners, businessmen and local landowners to protect their businesses and private homes, where the Central American country from plunging into a spiral of violence.

Speaking to Radio Netherlands, José Luis Gomez del Prado, a member of the Working Group of the United Nations on the use of mercenaries, said at least would have some 40 former Colombian paramilitaries in Honduras: "It is. What we are doing to issue our statement is to alert the de facto authorities to react and investigate. Our concern is fed also by the past that we know of Honduras as regards mercenaries.

Convention against Mercenaries

"We, in 2005, Honduras had the surprise that the military had allowed in a military training center army Letaperique located in Olancho and the training of 105 former Chilean military that a private security company hired to take them to Iraq . And it was the government of Manuel Zelaya who rushed to ratify the convention against mercenaries. Honduras is now part of the countries that have ratified the document, so hopefully Micheletti has investigated and has the evidence to rebut the information we have, "says Gomez del Prado.

Meanwhile and categorically, the de facto authorities in Honduras have rejected the possibility of their mercenaries in the country. Gomez del Prado: "I welcome that the de facto president has sent this information because we have great concern that there has just mercenaries. And I guess Roberto Micheletti well researched evidence to rebut the information we have."

Defense device coup

The information held by United Nations fears about the presence of a second group of mercenaries, comprising about 140 former paramilitaries, which has the mission to defend the whole apparatus coup, led by Roberto Micheletti.

"What we earn varies by market supply and demand. What I can say is that when the conflict began in Iraq and the private military and private security began to hire these people who are defined as private security guards , received salaries average of three thousand dollars a month for the Chileans, to 20 thousand dollars to the U.S., Britain a little less. As there was more supply in the market for those people who wanted to hire, prices were going down, "says Gomez del Prado.

UN inquiry calls

United Nations has specifically requested the de facto Mitcheletti to investigate fully the presence of mercenaries in Honduras. "But I doubt they do, anyway we need to raise this concern. We know they are using some weapons indiscriminately high volume, especially in front of the Brazilian Embassy to harass people who are find refuge there, including President Manuel Zelaya, "concludes Gomez del Prado.

The Working Group of the United Nations on the use of mercenaries, is composed of Shaista Shameem of Fiji, Najat al-Hajjaji, Libya, Amada Benavides de Pérez of Colombia, José Luis Gómez del Prado of Spain and Alexander Nikitin , Russia.
