Urgent: Violent eviction of peasants in Aguan, prepared

A violent eviction against 28 rural settlements in the Aguán  is prepared for Monday morning. Thousands of military, police and security guards of the landowners,  have militarized the recovered land sites, according to the latest information this weekend..
After the arrival of combined forces from different parts of the country, the zone is completely militarized, strong operations are being carried out with the intention of frightening men and women clustered in the Unified Movement of Peasants of Aguán, MUCA, struggling for a piece of land.

Psychological operations that are a prelude to a violent eviction  prepared  by landlords with the support of the armed forces and police patrols,  degenerates into state terrorism against unarmed men and women.
We denounce State terrorism by this government  led by the President, Mr. Porfirio Lobo Sosa, who has sent 29  military commands and vehicles without license plates with large high caliber weapons, which have reached the Aguan area, at around 4:00 in the afternoon on Saturday April 10, 2010, with the aim of intimidating, in the first place,  the farmers who have recovered the land, and the people of the area, so that the peasants  accept the proposal given by the Government of the Republic, to defend the interests of the three foreign landowners, who have  settled in a fraudulent way in this valley. Proof of this is that they are staying in the facilities of the oil extracting plant, owned by Miguel Facusse,  said the Coordinator  of the Aguan Popular Organizations in a statement.
The COPA document adds that , "We hold responsible  the President of the Republic, the Security Minister, the Defence Minister, and business entrepeneurs, Miguel Facusse, Rene Morales, and Reinaldo Canales, of any violent act that is generated in the next few hours in the Region  Lower Aguan, that comes to increase the number of killings of peasants. "
According to data provided by farmers in the left bank of the River Aguan,  military and police have focused on several points, amongst them in Quebrada de Agua, where the factory  is located, where  oil palm is  processed, which is owned by Miguel Facussé .
"They have done intensive patrolling and we have been threatened to the point of throwing bursts of bullets into a small 10-year-old, who  came to see them when they were doing military exercises," complained  to defensoresenlinea.com, a peasant woman, on  Sunday night  April 11 .
While also in the  Fifteenth Infantry Battalion, the Naval Base, and the Fourth Battalion combine their forces  to go out at dawn on Monday, in order to take the farmers out of the land  appropriated by landowners and which have been recovered by  the the former.
A proposal for the landowners, but which  was presented by the government, is on the table for  "dialogue" with thousands of guns pointed at the head of MUCA. Through  this same dialogue, it  is intended  to leave the members of this organization, who claim the State lands,  as servants of the landowners and handcuffed to their wishes, the answer must be given by MUCA on Tuesday.
The police-military mobilization that will leave millions of expenses to the Honduran people, the paramilitaries included,  is on the verge, like during  the day before  men in motorcycle murdered farmer José Leonel Alvarez Guerra, Tocoa Colon, when he arrived home on April 07 , amid reports of the presence of Billy Joya, a member of the Death Squad 3-16 and who since the coup is taking part in actions that violate human rights.

Also, the radio and television  broadcast of the regime took  place in this context, to remind repeatedly of the criminal  penalties for the manufacture, storage, transport, use, income, purchase or supply of arms, explosives, or materials of war or combat, emphasizing AK47 rifles, submachine guns, pistols and chimbas or homemade weapons.

The Fourth Battalion of La Ceiba is also involved in repressive actions
"They are training at the Tenth Battalion of Trujillo to activate explosives and to mine all the farms, where we are, and thus destroy us, while at the same time,  hooded men beset us," complained one of the farmers interviewed by defensoresenlinea.com.
Although the actions are public due to  MUCA denouncing them  through radio programs  such as Voices Against Forgetting(Voces contra el Olvido), of COFADEH and the  Popular Front of National Resistance Front , so far, the state institutions, which  should avoid bloodshed in the Aguán, have not yet taken matters into their hands.
If  this violent eviction takes place,  thousands of peasants are in grave danger at the moment, which is why  international human rights organizations should be alert,  to send urgent appeals to the Honduran government to stop this slaughter.
