Profiling: files against 130 members of the resistance prepared by the DNIC ( National Directorate of Criminal Investigation)

The development of some 130 files against members of the resistance, like in the worst moments of the 1980's, has been prepared by the National Directorate of Criminal Investigation, DNIC, with the aim not only to have the profiles of the people, but to intimidate, and thus, break up the resistance in Honduras.

On September 10, 2008, two agents of the DNIC conducting espionage and lifting profiles  were apprehended by members of the union of Workers of the National Autonomous University of Honduras (SITRAUNAH) inside the university.
Weapons, badges and a list  containing  names of Honduran social movement leaders were seized from the undercover agents.
In this list, the name of  the Secretary General of the Confederation of Workers of Honduras (CTH) Altagracia Fuentes,  appeared crossed out, who was shot and killed by heavily armed masked men, who intercepted the vehicle in which she was traveling with two more companions, which also died on April 23, 2008.
This time it will be the DNIC itself in charge of it and it would not be surprising that ordinary crimes shall be credited to send them to jail, all with the firm intention to disrupt the People's National Front, FNRP, which Security Minister Oscar Alvarez  described as to have "no reason to be and therefore, should be dismantled".
This  serves the sole purpose of  covering up the political persecution taking place against members  of the resistance, since the Porfirio Lobo regime is currently facing international pressure to stop these actions that are detrimental to human rights and a climate of reconciliation, which he  preaches for recognition.
The  anonymous source who provided information,  noted that the work has started, the dedication of the DNIC is full time to try by all possible means to overthrow a popular project that has been consolidated in spite of repression.
Repression by all means also coincides with a referendum scheduled by the  FNRP for next June 28, after a year of the execution of the coup against President Manuel Zelaya Rosales. The road will continue towards a National Constituent Assembly, the only way to restore the country's institutions.
