Journalist Giorgino Orellana murdered
San Pedro Sula. Georgino Orellana, the renowned journalist, was killed this evening by a stranger who inferred a shot in his head when he went out of the TV station where he worked, said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Héctor Iván Mejía to a media agency of the capital city.
Orellana had a news program from 8 to 9 pm in the Honduran TV channel. After concluding his briefing task, he said goodbye to his co-workers and when leaving the channel, he was intercepted by a man who was hiding in some bushes. Police said.
He was taken to Hospital Mario Rivas in this city, where minutes later after his arrival he died, at about 9:30 pm.
With the assassination of Orellana, it sums up seven journalists who were violently murdered so far in 2010.
