The regime of Porfirio Lobo Sosa is violating the trade union legal rights of more than one hundred employees who want to join the Trade Union of Workers of Dinaders and Pronaders(SITRADINPRO).

The employees from the National Directorate of Sustainable Rural Development (DINADERS) decided to settle as a union in early January 2009, therefore, they made the necessary rigor procedures to the authorities of the Ministry of Labour on March 9, 2009.
The Vice-president of the Workers' Union of the National Directorate of Rural Development, Rigoberto Cáceres, said they have approximately 14 months of being in the process of legal status, which has not yet been granted for unknown reasons.

He said the Minister of Labour and Social Prevision excused himself, because he claimed that he recently took office and does not know the procedures for forming the union.

Article 517 of the Labour Code stipulates that the formal notification of thirty employees, written to their boss, communicated to the Department of Labor or the Office of Labour Court of their intention to organize a union, it places the signatories of the notice under special state protection.
Consequently, from the date of notification until the date of receiving legal record, none of the signatories workers may be fired, transferred or demoted in their working conditions, without just cause, qualified.

Caceres said that the current regime names a large number of political activists, many of which do not meet the requirements for the positions.
"Part of our complaint is that, as trade unionists, we have been marginalized, they have taken our roles as technicians, we have been moved away from offices, and we even have been thrown in the basement, where the parking lot is and all of us who are part of the board have been moved, "said the union leader.
