Police fired on the peasants Tito René García and Henry Elvir Martínez, when they arrived the community Guadalupe Carney at about noon, using as an argument that they might have been prosecuted for theft of land and wanted to force them to identify their mates appearing on a list, on Friday 16 April.
Since morning, more than 100 police and military COBRAS well armed, came to the community to take a few culverts as a way to confront the farmers and have a pretext to raid the homes and proceed to capture them.
At a time when they were about to get sewers in a crane, a delegation from the European Union and the Coordinadora de Organizaciones Populares Aguan came to this sector and when the international delegates asked the police why he was doing that, they responded that it was by order of the mayor at the request of President Guadalupe Carney, Juan Santos Aguilar, but he denied having been requested such action, for the sewers are owned by the community.
Adolfo Cruz, social communicator in the area said it was a form of confrontation, "but we will not allow that they meet their purposes and they are responsible for what may happen."
Both the community and the presence of delegations who arrived prevented from producing a confrontation with unfortunate consequences, because the peasants are warned not to let them violate their rights.
A police officer who was accompanied by COBRAS and and army members, covered his name with a flak jacket in order to not to be identified.
All these actions take place in a climate of tension, which has been implemented by the regime since last Friday in which a military and police force moved more than seven thousand 500 armed men, with the intention of softening the peasantry to desist from claiming their land.
Following the signing of an agreement with the regime on Thursday morning, the repressive activities have intensified. What takes place in the Guadalupe Carney is part of the terror strategy.
Although the demilitarization of the area was announced, it continues operating through checkpoints, police and military make people get out of the buses to find their names on lists, although they had assured that judicial action and effect for land usurpation would be undermined against peasants of the Unified Movement of Aguán who have remained steadfast in their struggle despite the terror implemented.
A delegation of the Committee of Relatives of Detained and Disappeared in Honduras, COFADEH, traveled to the area to document the new human rights violations and take necessary actions to safeguard the lives of people in danger.

Militarization in Aguán(Fotos G. Trucchi)
In spite of the signed agreements between the government of Honduras and the Peasant Unified Movement of Aguan (MUCA), Lower Aguán continues being strongly militarized. The Army and police have released an operation without precedents in all the road between Tocoa and Trujillo and they keep the peasant communities surrounded.
