WARNING: To the people of Honduras and the international community

Freedom of expression remains under threat and with it freedom for the free practice of journalism and the full enjoyment of that right by the Honduran citizenship.

We denounce to the Honduran people and the international community that Radio Progreso, continues to receive threats for their informative work information.  These threats were reported at the time they happened to law enforcement authorities, national and international organizations on human rights.

RADIO PROGRESO reiterates that its informative editorial and publishing before, during and after the coup of June 28, has always been inspired by the needs and aspirations of the impoverished population, and from there is where our communication and prophetic feeds.
Radio Progreso, located in northern Honduras, and affiliated to the Latin American Association for Radio Education ALER, and part of the Radio Network of the Society of Jesus in Latin America, warns of the existence of a pattern of threats, intimidation and elimination against social communicators, as evidenced by the violent death of 6 journalists in less than 40 days.

We urge the regime of Porfirio Lobo Sosa, to address the recommendations regarding respect for human rights by various national and international organizations demand, we particularly demand to ensure respect for freedom of expression as a cornerstone of democracy.
