Reporters packed the Judiciary because they wanted to know the version of Rivera Avilez about remarks by President Porfirio Lobo Sosa in the sense that he had promised not to dismiss the judges.
However, with a 10-5 vote the judges ruled the dismissal of judges Ramón Enrique Barrios, Luis Alonso Chévez de la Rocha, Guillermo Lopez Lone, and Judge Tirza del Carmen Flores Lanza.
Izaguirre, after talking to Rivera Avilez told reporters that what Lobo Sosa asked of his boss was to postpone the decision to separate judges.
"The court's president promised he would make the necessary steps to request it in court, but there he was rejected and told that this is a decision that is already taken," he said. He said the 10 judges who voted in favor of the dismissal say that there will be no going back.
For his part, one of the judges who are in the hunger strike, Guillermo Lopez Lone, said the position of judges is intransigent and does not contribute to a climate of dialogue and reconciliation.
"That position puts us in a situation where the strike could be taken further and that could bring the incorporation of other organizations," he said.
