The Chairman of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights in Honduras (CODEH), Andrés Pavón, revealed that there were plans to assassinate Manuel Zelaya Rosales once he enters the country.
Tegucigalpa. The revelation of the plot emerged when President Lobo has invited Zelaya to return to Honduras, in order to obtain recognition by the international community who condemned the military coup led by dictator Roberto Micheletti and Romeo Vasquez in June 2009.
Pavón Murillo said the purpose of executing Zelaya comes from the same groups who accomplished the coup, and they have made the whole police and paramilitary apparatus to prevent that the then president of leading the Popular Resistance, which has been supporting him since he was ousted from power by the oligarchs who control the country.
It also states that Danilo Orellana, who coordinated the crisis room of the Micheletti dictatorship was drafted into the National Penitentiary, would be in charge of receiving "Mel" and create the conditions- according to Pavón- to be executed as well as the mobilization of paramilitaries belonging to the group United Self-Defense of Colombia (AUC), and intelligence specialists to commit the assassination.
On the other hand, the human rights defender believes that President Wolf and Security Minister Oscar Alvarez, are unaware that the coup leaders continue in the internal state security apparatus and that they are organizing their death squads and have asked them to take appropriate action, so that the same cells destabilize the government.
At the same time, he is urging the Attorney General, Luis Rubi and Anti-Corruption Prosecutor, Henry Salgado, to give explanations on the matter, because they are aware of the planning and eventual execution of the former president, who remains in the Dominican Republic as distinguished guest.
He has also asked Zelaya Rosales at the moment not return to the country because his life is in extreme danger, since the conditions to eliminate him are given because the mainstream media whoich supported the dictatorship is describing him as "monster" to justify the execution, the defenders of human rights being treated as "Zelayists" and "thieves" and since the coup they have been describing the Resistance as a terrorist organization, giving free rein to repression.
