Greetings from Barcelona.
International Appeal to denounce and repudiate the sham elections in Honduras
The social, political and solidarity as well as private individuals undersigned declare:
1. The coup in Honduras, involving U.S. complicity, and materialized by Michelleti and its de facto regime, loaded with 21 people killed, there are 4 thousand 234 complaints against violation of fundamental freedoms, 7 bombings, 95 death threats , 133 cases of torture, 394 injured and 211 people injured in the crackdown, 1,987 illegal detentions, 2 attempted kidnapping and 114 political prisoners accused of sedition. And every day that passes, these figures continue to rise.
2. The insurgents remain in power with this gesture demonstrating his deep contempt for democracy and no recognition of the sovereign right of peoples to express themselves through voting.
Time has shown that both the U.S. government maneuvers, such as the OAS, submissive to their interests, not meant to defend, but simply to delay, obstruct and ultimately support those who now seek to develop an electoral farce.
3. Upon the expiry date of October 30, America has seen fit to maneuver and allow the agreement between the Government of President Manuel Zelaya Rosales and the rebels, the so-called Agreement Tegucigalpa / San Jose, which would legitimize the elections of 29 November and that the popular movement could not come up with potential opportunities to them.
The insurgents have failed to perform. The constitutional president continues fenced in the Brazilian embassy, repression persists. In a gesture of boundless cynicism, USA has been quick to declare that recognize the elections. President Manuel Zelaya Rosales has denounced the impunity with which they will develop the elections on 29 November. The National Resistance Front and other democratic forces have also announced, they will not go to the polls and will boycott the sham elections.
4. Most media in the service of the oligarchy, imperialism and transnational take for solving the crisis and want to legitimize the elections of 29 November 2009. Despite this coordinated effort and terminate media for the crisis, the Honduran people's struggle continues, and reiterates its demands:
1. Unconditional refund of President Manuel Zelaya Rosales of the presidency of the Republic of Honduras restoring the situation before the day June 28, 2009
2. Ignorance of the electoral process on 29 November 2009.
3. Following the breakdown of constitutional order by the oligarchic political caste, more than ever: Call for National Convention.
4. Trial and punishment of the plotters and their accomplices.
Also, joining these legitimate demands of the Honduran people ask governments and international institutions do not recognize the elections of 29 November will not send any commission or international observer mission and maintain political pressure, economic and financial against dictatorship civil-military imposed by the oligarchy and imperialism, and to ignore spurious authorities wishing to stand as elected representatives of the Honduran people.
Freedom for the people of Honduras.
