Despite militarization of elections;Hondurans are called to vote
Bertha Caceres, director of the Civic Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras (COPINH) and member of the staff ofIndependent Bid , Said in an interview that people are "called to vote under the threat of armed actors," thereby justifying its withdrawal from the election process.
For Cáceres whatever comes of the election process will be a coup government and the continuation of de facto regime with another face, and they are betting the neoliberal project. "We have not lost sight that we will remain in politics, dignifying as Romero taught us," Caceres said.
The Indian leader stressed that his resignation of the current process is due to the "farce coup" of the elections and holds the de facto regime and the Electoral Tribunal for the violence, state terrorism and crimes against humanity made in the name of "Honduran democracy" because the electoral judges have the authority over the army and national police.
"It's important to understand that while the army went to the Electoral Court orders the military is a function of defending the coup and that's part of the Electoral Court, so his strategy of repression is not over, the people will be at a clear threat of armed groups, we are a people at gunpoint, forced to go willingly to the electoral process, "said the director of COPINH.
In the process of 29 November, the polls will be "managed" by the military "Coup" which leaves her free will, the manipulation of results, reporting that has been presented by various sectors in resistance.
The leader said that they (organized sectors against the coup), will continue to fight to overthrow the de facto regime. "We are facing a delicate situation on human rights issues and International Community should not forget the rape and crimes against humanity, mass media should not forget that, "detailed Caceres.
