ALERT: Kidnapped Juan Ramon Flores, Coordinator of the Popular Resistance in Comayagua

Alert: Kidnapped Coordinator of Popular Resistance in Comayagua (central region)

Tegucigalpa - (Tuesday, June 1, 2010) .- The Coordinator of the National Popular Resistance Front (FNRP) and MP candidate for the Liberal Party  in the department of Comayagua, Juan Ramon Flores (44) was kidnapped this afternoon by several heavily armed and masked men at the exit to the road which leads to the community of La Libertad in this department.

The Committee of Relatives of Detained and Disappeared in Honduras (Cofadeh) received the complaint a few minutes ago, which stated that Flores was in a repair shop with other people, when they were surprised by the action of the hooded men, that according to  the received telephone version might involve police.
The kidnappers reduced to impotence the people who were in the shop and proceeded to capture and abduct  Juan Ramon Flores. The whereabouts of the Coordinator of Popular Resistance in Comayagua are unknown.

CODEH (Committee for the Defence of Human Rights) informs:
An hour ago, Juan Ramón Flores, who was one of the coordinators of the Cuarta Urna (the Fourth Ballot box poll during the Zelaya Government, which never  took place due to the coup) in the department of Comayagua, was kidnapped. He integrated himself to Resistance activities against the coup d'état. His car was destroyed by the military during the violent eviction near the Brazilian Embassy.
