Murder attempt against Carol Cabrera, Journalist accompanying her killed

A few meters from where  her daughter was killed in December, journalist Carol Cabrera was the victim of an attack where  last night the friend who accompanied her was killed. He was television presenter, Antony Joseph Hernandez Ochoa (27). At the time of the attack at about 7:45 pm, Cabrera was broadcasting in her program on Radio Cadena Voces from a cell phone and made comments against the cancellation of her space on Channel 8 television. 

In the program, Cabrera had the  merengue song El Venado in the background and was claiming she had video and informed that several government officials had sex in the office with other women (did not specify which offices), and was calling the wives of the officials in question, whom she called "doe" to alert them. 
Referring to an upcoming convention of the National Party in Olancho, she said she was from that region and she had an uncle in the area whom she had asked to have guns ready to receive the members of the Party(the National Party, i.e.- the ruling party) who had done harm to her taking her out  of Channel 8. 
Suddenly, she asked the National Electricity Company (ENEE) to illuminate the area of the hill of El Chile, where  was  driving at the moment, fearing an attack or to fall into an abyss. 
After the first burst of shots she started screaming. After a few seconds of remaining  silent she cries softly and fearful "Help, help, help" and pronounced the name of his companion, Joseph, Joseph.Then the radio signal went off air and announced the end of the space. 
The National Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DNIC), confirmed at the crime scene they found more than 38 shell casings caliber nine millimeters, close to the vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, 2001 model, white boards PCB-6746,   which belonged to Ochoa. 
Partners of the radio that employs the journalist reported that she always brought with her a custodian, but last night she told him to go to her house to care for the child because she feared for his life. 
POLEMICS 
Journalist Carol Cabrera was shot to fame by her musical segments called Carolmanía. 
Both there and in other television and radio segments in which she participates, she has launched harsh criticism and offenses against different characters of the national public and private life, against those she  used epithets like "horse", "dog," Longnose "" donkey, "" two-legged rat "and" oxygenated frog, "among others. 
On December 15th  before Cabrera's daughter, Kathleen Nicolle Rodriguez Cabrera (16), died in the Hospital Materno Infantil, where she was taken after an attack at about 8: 00 pm in the place where her mother was attacked in a shooting last night. 

The girl was in a tourist vehicle Honda Accord, blue plate PAK-2338, which was driven by Allan Javier Banegas (17), and Francisco Yanez Gabriel Bonilla and Onelio Ortega were also aboard. 
The attack was perpetrated by motorcyclists who fired  the vehicle , four bullets in the right rear window, right where the girl sat , who was in her eighth month of gestation, while Bonilla Yanez and Onelio Ortega, were injured. 
The lowest received a shot in the chest and made it alive to hospital, as doctors tried to save her, but she died within minutes, it motivated them to make every effort to keep her baby alive . 
STATUS 
Carol Cabrera, who was reportedly removed from the state-run Channel 8, was rescued from the crime scene by police who gave her first aid and took her to the Hospital Escuela, from which she was then  moved to the Military Hospital. 
Police reports indicated that she  had only one shot in the left arm that hit her in the side without penetrating the body. 
COINCIDENCES 
Carol Cabrera was hit  in the El Chile, the same place where her daughter Kathleen Nicole Cabrera was assassinated, whom she called "Coco." 

The attack occurred at 7:45 pm, at the same time the girl was attacked , on 15 December 2009. 

Katleen Nicole was attacked by men on motorcycles. It has not yet been confirmed whether the gunmen who opened fire on a Cabrera also went on a motorcycle.

Joseph Anthony Hernandez Ochoa, 27, was a  graduating   Journalism student at the University of Honduras.Today he had his own television show on Channel 51 called "Meetings with Joseph". It was well known in the world of entertainment. It had about three or 4 years of independent media work .

In view the pro coup media has taken advantage of this event to align public opinion to their political agenda (blaming the resistance to justify repression against the population) with continous yellow press reports  without ever reporting the constant attacks to anti coup media, also not reporting on the assassination of anti coup activists (and if  they did so, they always  report on them being common crimes or related to drug trafficking)  and in view  Hugo Llorens, the US ambassador in Honduras has made certain comments regarding the murder and none about the latest assassinations of three members of the Resistance (just an ambiguous remark regarding them made only after this event took place) with an obvious political agenda underneath his statements:

Reporters Without Borders offers its condolences to the colleagues and family of journalist Joseph Ochoa of the privately-owned Canal 51 TV station, who was shot dead in Tegucigalpa on the evening of 1 March in an attack probably targeted at fellow journalist Karol Cabrera of the state-owned Canal 8TV station and the privately-owned radio station Radio Cadena Voces(RCV). Cabrera was shot and seriously injured but she is out of danger.

The motive of the shooting has yet to be established but Cabrera is a very outspoken journalist who openly supported President Manuel Zelaya's removal in a coup last June and is often involved in media controversies.

The host of a discussion programme on RCV, Cabrera was being driven home and was connected with the station and talking on the air when gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on her vehicle. RCV's listeners were able hear her cries for help during the shooting. A total of 36 bullet impacts were found in her car. Her daughter, Katleen Nicole Rodríguez Cabrera, was killed in similar circumstances on the same road on 15 December.

The shooting has highlighted the danger of violent crime to which the Honduran media and the population as a whole has long been exposed.Three journalists were killed in 2009. Reporters Without Borders hopes that investigators will quickly identify those responsible for this attack and bring them to justice.

The press freedom organisation also cautions the authorities, the political class and the media themselves against trying to exploit this shooting for political ends. Porfirio Lobo Sosa's installation as president on 27 January has not been followed by any improvement in the situation of press freedom or human rights.

After the ransacking of community radio station Radio Coco Dulce, two young Globo TV journalists who worked at the president's office before the coup were kidnapped and tortured in February. They fled to Nicaragua after being released.

Four human rights activists and opponents of the post-coup regime have been murdered in targeted killings since the 29 November elections.

His father, Pedro Pablo Hernández, during the funeral blamed Carol Cabrera for the death of his son. He said that who should have died was her and that he regrets his son reconciliated with the journalist, with whom, accordingly to some of the mourners, she had been an enemy of in recent months. 

Joseph Ochoa-  the journalist who died after an attack against the car he drove beside his colleague  was giving her a "ride", when suddenly they were persecuted by armed mercenaries tuesday night, according to the first investigations of the incident. 

Investigations indicate that the young journalist took Cabrera home located in Colonia Cerro Grande in Comayagüela, in view her vehicle was damaged  since three days before the incident.

TIEMPO  found out that the journalist had a police assigned to secure her life, but due to her cars conditions they couldn't travel, therefore, the TV host suggested the policeman who took care of her to stay home taking care of her children who were afraid something happened to them.

Joseph's Father: Carol Cabrera was deceiving my son Tuesday, 02 of Marzo of 2010 22:09 My son was with Carol Cabrera because she was deceiving him promising him  a job that she was going to get him, first with Roberto Micheletti, then Pepe Lobo, but what he got was death because of the problems she has.  This was expressed  by visibly shaken Mr. Pedro Pablo Hernandez, father of the journalism student, Joseph Anthony Hernandez Ochoa (26), shot dead by gunmen while driving the controversial communicator Carol Cabrera home in his car. "They were not good friends with Carol Cabrera because they had a clash of words in the University and following that they did not speak to each other, but as Micheletti entered the government the girl spoke to my son from there and they became friends again," said Don Pedro Pablo.  He added that since then Cabrera began to deceive him, " that she was going to get him a job, to come along with her in her work, he drove her back and forth, to where she wanted, and he was not her bodyguard like someone said".  Suspicious: what is Cabrera hiding? "This looks somewhat suspicious, because only he was killed. The killers when they attack they do it with the right person, "said Don Pedro Pablo without hiding his pain, suggesting that in this case the gunmen acted in reverse.  "In this case my son was asked by Carol Cabrera to take her with  Joseph's car, they took with them  the  policeman who was the bodyguard of the girl and told him to leave him on the bridge of El Chile.
