Miguel Facussé seeks to halt the construction of community radio

Bulletin 129-sj.jo.orrgg and www.eric www.r.radioprogresohn.com

Today: More than 500 families live in Grande Grass peninsula in extreme poverty, threatened by  the usurper Miguel Facussé which aims to take over the vast area that receives the warm coastal waters of the Gulf of Fonseca.
Franklin Melendez, leader of the Movement for Land Reclamation Zacate Grande, said he was summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department, DGIC, to testify about installing a community radio station that will serve to inform what happens in the field of Grass Grande and in the country to the people of all communities.

"They wanted to know what we were building and who were donating money for construction, so the employer sent Miguel Facussé people who identified themselves as agents of DGIC to take pictures of the ones who  are building the community radio," said leader. "Mr. Facussé not like the idea of community radio because it will be thwarting the plans he has, because he has people a bit numbed by their propaganda and the community radio is believed to have come to outnumber people with information about rights, laws and many things to help us us, "said Melendez.

Among the communities that would benefit from the communication project include La Flor, El Muray, Ojochal, The Seagull, Coyolito Guanacastales, Puerto Grande, Pintadillera,
among others. Moreover, Franklin Melendez, also claimed that he was required by government agents of Amapala, to respond on a bomb that had been detonated on 28 November, but it is people who use those bombs for fishing and he has nothing to answer to the charge.

Melendez considers that this allegation is part of the threats for many years farmers have received, and they have been organized to recover lands Miguel Facussé  has taken away, which  he has done in collusion with law enforcement authorities of Amapala.

He said he  also was accused of setting fire to a vehicle  to promote the installation of community radio in the area that would allow communication with more than 10 communities of  Zacate Grande.

They face the  threat of losing their land because of the greed of agribusiness magnate Miguel Facussé (of great political influence) that aims to encircle the entire coastline of the peninsula."We believe they did it on purpose to incriminate people and some people who likes us . I introduced myself to Amapala before the judge, but they did not take me to court but stayed on the premises of the Directorate General of Criminal Investigation (DGIC) for about 2 hours, "said the victim.
