Hermes Reyes attacked

Hermes Reyes

Dina Meza, Defensores en Línea,
A vehicle began to move when I came out  the gate of ECOSOL, just walked about 25 steps,a guy approached me   and hit me on the face with a wire, crossing my eyes, the wound on the right side hit my bone so I made four points in a private clinic, told Hermes Reyes, who was attacked by unknown, at about 7:30 pm on Friday 12 February.
Reyes represents the Broad Movement for Dignity and Justice MADJ before the National Resistance Front, which was holding a meeting that day in the organization ECOSOL, Siguatepeque, in central Honduras, to discuss control strategies in the face of  a National Constituent Assembly and to the illegitimate government of Porfirio Lobo Sosa.
Apart from being part of MADJ, the organization also integrates FNRP Artists Resistance, who are active from bringing their own strengths, art, painting, theater, among others.

"I am about 25 steps toward the road from Siguatepeque to Hope, I see a car that is pan-blue and which is parked on the side of the street, the car starts the engine and moving very close to me when I was near one of the guys he suddenly appears and  hits me with a cable in the face in my eyes, a single blow that stunned me,  crossed from one end to the eyes, touched the right side to the bone.

He added that the strangers did not hit him but left enough of a threat: "we know where you  are
you sons of b..." referring to  the people who came to the meeting from different parts of the country to attend the first meeting of FNRP.Hermes was assisted by several of his comrades at the front who took him to a private clinic in the area.

"I think this sector is being coordinated by the  Siguatepeque oligarchy, who are doing action against the resistance, they  had already gone to the Red Comal, beat the young man  and the dog that takes cares of it, and now  this," said the artist whose wounds are healing quickly.

For him it was sending a warning message to create fear in order  to stop the resistance that has defined goals, including not sit down and talk with Lobo Sosa, to push for a National Constituent Assembly and take over the country.

Reyes had received direct threats through  his e-mail and cell phone where they said  to him "you signed your death warrant with that complaint," after three days in July before signing with several representatives of the country, a complaint filed with the Public Prosecutor against the Junta and Roberto Micheletti, for the crime of terrorism, after the coup against Zelaya Rosales.
But he had also been photographed during marches and remained for four days in the Embassy of Brazil in September 2009 when the ousted leader was at that embassy, to press for restitution in office.
