TEGUCIGALPA -Diario Tiempo.
Young journalist, Katherine Izaguirre, denounced yesterday that several armed men detained her illegally for over an hour, threatened her, and stole her camera only because she is  part of the Globo TV staff.

According to Izaguirre, around 7:00 am she was getting out of a taxi that took her from Colonia El Carrizal to Plaza Miraflores, when suddenly two men  approached her, one of them pointed a gun at her  and made her get inside a black van.

The journalist, who works in the program "En Foro", which is broadcast by Globo TV, expressed that she had already received threatening calls, although she didn't explain which kind.

“There were two men dressed in black, their faces completely covered, and they placed me between both of them each pointing at my head with a gun. They made me several questions, then they checked by purse and took out my camera", she said.

RADIO GLOBO
Izaguirre assured that the gunmen had asked her if she worked on Radio Globo and she ws not afraid to answer that she does work in Globo TV. She added, "they showed me my camera to then tell me that this is why they (Radio Globo/Globo TV staff) were going to be found dead".

“What is it that they have against Globo TV journalists? What is the problem with us telling the truth if other media want to hide it? Here we say the truth and if we die for the truth, it will be for a good cause", said the journalist.

She pointed out that the subjects took her to several places for over an hour and a half until they abandoned her in an alley in Colonia San Miguel, east of the city, without her video camera.

“At the end they told me that this once we forgive your life, but you're already warned", narrated the young woman to then add that "they were minutes of anguish, I didn't know what to do".
