Hedme Castro

In an interview with defensoresenlinea.com, Hedme Fátima Castro denounces suffering systematic persecution in the hands of police and Honduran Army forces. Yesterday (October 28), she was victim of a similar assault, after being run over by a van, which intercepted her but only took out her Human Rights Attorney ID, credential granted by the Committee of Relatives of the Detained Disappeared of Honduras (COFADEH) and the keys of her car; two hours later they gave her back her documents. Something similar had happened to the teacher and human rights attorney when police confiscated her ID and then gave it back to the offices of COFADEH. Hedme Fátima Castro (Sub-Coordinator of Program E-Defender) counts with Precautionary Measures granted by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), but they have been useless due to the negligence of the Porfirio Lobo Sosa regime and his complicity with the repressive forces of the State, as was demonstrated with the recent public hearing of the IACHR last monday October 25.
